Welcome to Jewelfire, a site dedicated to British author Freda Warrington.

After first picking up one of her books in a bookstore in Sydney, Australia, Freda Warrington has fast become one of my all-time favourite authors. It was an article in an underground Sydney 'Zine called Ex Cathedra, in which authors Storm Constantine, Poppy Z. Brite, Kathe Koja and Freda were showcased that piqued my interest, and I've been hooked ever since.

Freda's work spans the range of fantasy, dark fantasy, the supernatural and vampires, without falling victim to the pitfalls that some genre fiction is wont to do. Her stories are fast-paced and richly detailed and her characters are full of depth, flawed and ultimately easy to identify with. I've found all her books to be gripping page-turners that have grabbed me from the first page and not let me go.

I decided to start this site to show my appreciation for one of my favourite authors, and because there is not a lot of information availible about Freda and her work online. Hopefully this site will be of some help to both fans and those new to her work.
