Freda Warrington is the highly acclaimed and award winning author of 17 novels.

She was born in Leicestershire and was was brought up in the beautiful Charnwood Forest area which inspired her feelings for atmosphere, landscape and the mysterious.
After training at Loughborough College of Art, she worked in graphic design and medical art while writing in her spare time. She published her first novel, A Blackbird in Silver, in 1986.

Now Freda writes full-time and lives in Derbyshire. She enjoys art, reading, music, mythology, psychology, travel, conventions, and things Gothic.

Freda has been nominated for numerous awards for her work. She was nominated by the British Fantasy Society for Best Novel in 1996 for Dark Cathedral, in 1997 for Pagan Moon and Dracula The Undead and in 1999 for The Amber Citadel. In 1997 she also received the Best Gothic Novel of 1997 award for Dracula The Undead.
