Oh yes, My guestbook went live last night.
Many many thanks to Pitr for customising his existing script for me, and to Bekar who helped test all the tweaks in the layout.

8 hours of continuous restful sleep isn't too much to ask for, is it?
I believe I got around 7 last night, but was awake a few too many times and then the neighbours decided to start doing their noisy DIY project again. Aargh! So I feel pretty similar to how I did when I went to bed.
The hot weather over the past week hasn't helped, it has made sleep restless.
At least these days I'm sleeping more than 3-4 hours at a time and at night, which is a big improvement. But it needs tweaking for sure.

I came across this Guardian Newspaper article about the whole Pledge of Allegiance issue.
I wholeheartedly agree with the author of the piece. Very well written too.

Yay! www.silentgarden.net is finally live with all the content in place as I wanted it. Now the wait is on for the guestbook script so that part of the site can be finished also.

The GOTH.NET Ikonboard finally works like it should. Mostly. A few more issues that require answers from the people who created it, but nothing life threatening.
As part of the ever growing Cult of the Reality TV Show there was one on TLC tonight that dealt with the Nashville medical examiners office. I was surprised that they actually showed as much as they did considering that here in the US many things get censored, bleeped or blurred. It makes for interesting viewing of reality shows about maternity wards... one big blurry birth. Or something.
So we got to see a charred and crispy corpse up close and personal while eating oven baked tater tots. Yum.
Tomorrow should see the proper birth of the main SilentGarden page, just a few small tweaks left.
Eyes almost bleeding. Time for bed.

This morning I finally tweaked the remaining things on this site, certain generated pages that were refusing to submit to css and changing the look of boring grey standard buttons to something that works better within the layout.
Along came the next challenge... the new version of Ikonboard to install on GOTH.NET. Being a full installation meaned wrestling with all the templates all over again. And of course there's one stubborn thing that shouldn't be happening that I can't seem to find and fix. So the board won't be operational for at least another several hours, as there are also other issues that PreZ will have to look into.
And to top it off is the news that Bush and the Senate decided that a decision by the courts that the pledge of allegiance phrase that refers to god is unconstitutional should be overturned. Seperation of church and state... you could have fooled me.

My first post [tm].
I feel completely brainfried at the moment having spent the better part of the last 12 or so hours straight photoshopping the images and working on the layout for this journal site and getting the software working after that.
But... it works, and I'm happy with this layout for it. Next up is finishing the layout for the guestbook site and implementing the software as soon as Pitr completes his script. He's been gracious enough to customise it to my demands and I'm really pleased with it. Thank you!
And then there's a bunch of changes and additions that I need to make to the main Silentgarden site as that's not completely finished, and it also needs a Netscape/Mozilla friendlier version. I hate NS, but due to PreZ being a Mozilla user, I'm being nice and making it NS/Mz friendly for him.
A day in the life of me ... all spent in front of the computer, how exciting.
